I don?t think mat can make the Pizza night Monday - so I am checking out who would be interested We are now running only 4 pizza nights a year so Why not catch up with the latest techniques - there are usually a few '4d Gurus' who turn up happy to give advice (I'm not including me in that list) but if anyone is coming along to the pub afterwards I can show you what I've been working on recently -the new 4d MS office objects for Office 2003 binding to word XML docs and also how to get database info directly into word on older versions using the command Launch external process.. Topics ranged from setting up 'generic relations' for multipurpose apps to Jabberwacky -the new 'synthetic human' interface and language recognition software that hit the media this week. Plenty of speculation on 4d 2007 release -apparently it has been demoed at a French university recently.. In the pub after -A demo of 4d Quiz was supplied from Belinder and I tried to show some 4d Office object library for office 2003 and also (for those not upgraded) 4d code for putting your own custom placeholders in MS word 2000 saved as html -replacing these with 4d content and opening automatically in Word using launch external process. I was able to show some of this before my battery laptop battery died -so apologies for the abrupt ending to the demo! I do promise to get an issue of the lugzine out this year with some of the code in it (yes I know we haven't seen much of it this year) The next meet is The Christmas bash Monday December 4th .
