The only new ones available now are intel macs, so that's what we got. Since then the 4D Server runs fine - most of the time. But we are experiencing times when 4D Server will just freeze. This is not crashing, and the Mac hasn't hung. We can still move the cursor and click on the Finder. If you right click on the Server Icon on the dock, nothing happens. You don't get "Application Not Responding", you get nothing. No beach ball, nothing. Nada. The only resolve is to Force Quit 4D Server. Then you have to run 4D Tools to check the data, it all takes a while. Now, I know 4D are not certifying 2003 for 10.4.9, but is anyone else running this configuration? There was talk of a "Patch" on the Nug for 2004 which people seem to think that it's fine for 2003, but I had difficulty finding any other information about it. I know the standard answer will be to upgrade them to 2004, but this is a long process and would take a while to implement. Has any body got any fixes for the short term? cheers Lisa -- Lisa Pollard Software Developer Another Dimension Ltd 167, Ardleigh Green Road Hornchurch, Essex. It looks likely, but we have recently had horrific issues with corrupt data which took me ages to sort out (had to completely rebuild the data file, even DataCheck let me down!), and although everything seems OK with the data, it could be a hangover from that. Pretty sure it's not a memory issue, although we are running Activity Monitor to check this and other CPU issues. New Mac Mini with 1gb ram though, and not a huge system, so should be plenty. John Ormes has suggested that it could be an incompatibility with ALP, so I need to check that out. Will keep you all posted with results. cheers Lisa On 21 Jun 2007, at 11:38, john convey wrote: > >Has any body got any fixes for the short term? > > sorry have not used that configuration -is it definitely a 4d > 2003 v intel clash ? > could it be a memory problem or something else? > > john > > John convey > > On 21 Jun 2007, at 10:58, Lisa Pollard wrote: > >> Has any body got any fixes for the short term? > cheers Lisa -- Lisa Pollard Software Developer Another Dimension Ltd 167, Ardleigh Green Road Hornchurch, Essex.
